IndentIn the distance you see the silhouette of an ancient, Celtic keep. After many hours of driving along twisting roads you finally pull up in front of the keep itself. Before you is a poor excuse for any kind of building, whole sections of walls are missing. It seems as though spiders, termites, toads and snakes appear to be the only creatures desperate enough to live here. You pan your vision out across the court yard, thousands of weeds over turn even more cobble stones, but something catches your eye. Mounted on the outer wall are two large, incredibly ugly gargoyles. Their tongues loll to the side, and their eyes point at unnatural angles. Both wield a shattered mirror in each hand. The mirrors directly catch the moonlight and refract it randomly across everything within the keep's outer walls. You shrug, thinking it nothing more than a fluke. You turn and move up the small flight of creaky stairs leading towards two, incredibly large, ornately carved doors. As you approach the door a small, blood red, creature extends a greeting and opens the massive doors effortlessly.
IndentYou pass over the threshold and stop dead in your tracks. You stand for a moment or two admiring what lies before you. Your eyes pan across a magnificently decorated foyer. You hear the doors close quietly, but when you turn to thank the creature for his service there is nothing but a perfectly smooth wall. You are startled out of you contemplation by a friendly voice. "May I enquire of your business, traveller?" You turn to see a formally dressed, slender, youth. Not quite sure of yourself, you extend small card and mumble something about meeting Xenor Vaklam. The youth glances at your card for a moment and flashes a charming smile. "Ah, yes, he has been expecting you, if you would just follow me..." The youth moves off briskly, not bothering to make sure you follow. You are lead down a series of complicated and confusing corridors, through awe inspiring ballrooms, and a collection of beautiful galleries. It seems as though you've been walking for hours but when you glance at you watch it informs only a minute or two has passed, you pause for a moment to consider this, but the youth keeps moving and you brush the thought aside as you chase after him. Finally the youth comes to a halt before an impressive black door, he requests that you wait a moment while he informs Mr. Vaklam of your presence and with that vanishes into the room. A moment later he returns, opens the door, and motions for you to enter.
Indent"Welcome to House Malkavian..." Echoes a voice from somewhere in the dark room.
"... I have been expecting you, friend..." An almost fluorescent white Kindred steps into a column of moonlight, revealing a pair of crimson red eyes. "... I am Xenor Vaklam..." The figure bows slightly. "...owner of this establishment. I do hope the illusions haven't confused you to much, but the whole place makes a lot more sense with them than without." Your mind does flips trying to make sense of his logic and finally gives up. You return his greeting and introduce yourself. He smiles reassuringly as if he knows your thoughts. "How may I help you tonight?"
