Overview:
Currently
I am still learning linux and all the wonderful things it has to
offer. I started running linux because I was tired of the problems I
was having with Windoze, the constant lockups, problems, blue screens
of death. I have visited lots of interesting sites for linux users,
and I wanted to add my personal experiences to the internet. Visit
often to see what I am doing with my linux box/network, and possibly
get some help with your setup. I am always available at
[email protected] to answer
questions, but please remember I am just learning too.
My Setup:
Currently,
I have 5 systems that I am working with. I will be adding a couple
more soon. My systems are:
Home:
This
is my main system. It is a 333MHz PII custom built system with a
6.4GB HDD, 96 MB RAM, CD ROM, 56K Cnet external modem, and a lowsy
14" display. I do mostly everything on this system, including
99% of my linux learning experience.
Laptop:
This
is my laptop. It is a Dell Inspiron 3500 system with a 4.6 GB HDD,
56K PCMCIA modem, 10/100 NIC, 14+ active matrix display. I am running
Win98 on this system, simply because I haven't gotten around to
installing linux on it. I guess I won't ever install linux on this
system though, because I would like to learn about Windoze and Linux
integration, and I guess that would mean that I need to have a
windblows system to work with. Anyways....
Remote:
This
is a DECpc 425sxLP system. While it's not currently hooked up to the
network, it will be soon. It has a small HDD in it, though I'm not
sure how much. I actually have two of these and another DEC system (a
486/100) that I will be doing some clustering with soon. (That's
going to be fun)
My experiences:
Here
is a 'journal-like' listing of what I have done with my system. I'll
try to tell as much as I can, but if I mis-state something, please
feel free to email me and let me know. I will also be posting
information that I happen to find and think is relevant.
