Maybe you prefer to use DOS, but once in a while have to use some
programs that require Windows 95. Or you would like to give DOS a
try, but don't want to loose your 'beloved' Windows. Luckily, DOS and
Windows 95 can be installed and both used separately on the same
computer, even on the same harddisk/partition.
As there are several DOS'es, there are several ways to do get a
'DOS-N-WIN' "multiboot" system. They all have one requirement in
common:
You're installing on a FAT 16 filesystem.
MSDOS & WIN95
|
If you had MSDOS installed before you installed WIN95, it's
'easy'. You just have to edit a few configuration files. If
you've got win95 and haven't got MSDOS on your system, it's
a little more difficult.
Find out how to get MSDOS - WIN95 multiboot using WIN95 bootmenu
on the "MSDOS & WIN95" page.

DRDOS & WIN95
|
This is very easy, if you're installing DRDOS on a system witch
has got WIN95 on it, DRDOS wil find it and automatically install
it's 'boot loader'. If you install WIN95 after DRDOS was installed,
you once have to call the 'Loader' from command line. You also have
to do so after reinstalling WIN95, as it swipes the MBR.
Have a look at
http://www.caldera.com for details, and other DRDOS features.

PTSDOS & WIN95

While the other 2 methods are 'tricks', PhysTechSoft offers a fully
featured boot manager "Bootwiz". It allows you to boot several OS'es
from one partition, and also from several partitions. This
bootmanager can be obtained 'loose', but it's also included in the
PTSDOS package.
