First we need a growing medium.  There are all kinds of different
seed starting mediums out on the market.
I prefer to use this soilless mix which consists of 70%
sphagnum peat moss and 30% perlite.
This brand here is called Farfard Mix no#2.


              
Next, I fill up a tray full of six pack cells.
  Fill to the top and smooth over lightly.
After I have done that, I set the full tray into
a shallow pan of water for a few moments.
  This will moisten the growing medium.
 You may want a spray bottle of water to help
 moisten the surface a little.
