Course Outline (Up)

The course Engineering Graphics (180:215) is offered in the Fall semester and is open to all engineering majors.

COURSE CONTENTS
1. Computers, basic Windows commands, file management.
How to enter and exit AutoCAD, AutoCAD screen, root and pull-down menus. Toolbars.
Drawing with AutoCAD: Prototype drawing and drawing setup (Units, Limits, Gird, Snap), Basic entities drawing (Line, Polyline, Circle and Arc), Osnap command; Last command; Basic modify commands (Erase, Undo/OOPS, Redo).
Selecting; Redraw command; Help command, Save command.
Homework assignment #1 (due next week).
2. More modify and construct commands: Copy, Rotate, Mirror, Move, Break, Trim, Extend, Offset, Properties, Scale, Fillet, Chamfer, Edit polyline; Viewing commands: Redraw, Zoom, Pan; Relative coordinates, Polar coordinates.
Homework assignment #2 (due next week).
3. Lettering: Text, Dynamic Text, Single Line Text, Edit Text, Text Style, Spelling; Layers; More entities drawing: Point, Point Style, Polygon, Donut, Hatching; Inquiry commands.
Homework assignment #3 (due next week).
4. Block assembling, Explode command; Attributes.
Quiz#1 (lectures 1 - 3)!
Homework assignment #4a (due two weeks).
5. Dimensioning; Print command.
Homework assignment #4b (due next week).
6. Everything you ever wanted to know about 3D drawing; Multiview drawing; UCS; Hide, Shade, Render.

NOTE: Quizzes will have 10 questions and take 10 minutes (each).
