Ship Suggestions

Ship Specific Missions---------------------Illegal Craft---------------------------Porphyre's Ships

Ship Specific Missions:

Interplanetary passenger and item jobs for ships similar to an Interplanetary Shuttle. The Marquette and the Personal Shuttle are some TEP ships which would fit int this mission plan.

Towing missions for ships similar to the Lifter, Viper, and Viper 2: The Lifter, Viper, and Viper 2 both have towing capability. Make use of it. The lifter could have ship-specific missions to tow a ship from one planet or station to the next. The Vipers could actually tow through hyperspace!!! This would add more to the game. While towing, the owner could make available the ship's lasers or hyperdrive to make the Lifter defendable. You could even steal the ship you're towing, but some 'reputation' thing would have to be enabled so you couldn't make a career of it, and also create consequences (i.e. you steal an Imperial Explorer and an Imperial Navy ship attacks you in the next system). The Interplanetary Recovery Vehicle, Lifter Mk 2, Medusa, and the The Regime Heavy Lifter need these missions.

PS: Rather than implementing towing in the the same way Arc Elite did, I think a 'hard dock' system would be better. Both the Lifter and the Vipers have flat sides that would be excellent for a hard docking. It would also look somewhat better. Also, I'm not sure that these craft would be capable of towing monolithic traders similiar to my Djinni, Rob's Micheal, or FFE's Panther Clipper.

Defense and carrier missions for all those tiny, tiny fast combat ships... my Goblin, for example: Ship-specific missions to defend a local port or station (Park it, use the Delta Inducer, and attack any attackers until your shift is over) or escort missions. See the TEP Ships by Category page for all of the airfighters and light attack craft listed there.

When I say ship-specific, I mean that these would only be offered when you have those ships. Something similiar was done in FFE with military missions and military rank. I personally think ship-specific missions could widen the game and make it more varied. And possibly give incentive to buy a Lifter.

Please, mail me if your TEP ship would fit any of these descriptions. I would gladly link out to your ship file.

Illegal Craft:

Ship similar to Fer-De-Lance: This ship would be legalized by the Regiment. Remember: on a Fer-De-Lance, fuel scoops are standard! Upon entering any claimed, non-Regimental system, you'd be presented with the following message: {Attention: you have enter this system in an illegal craft. Pay a fine of 2000 credits, abandon ship, or leave this system immediately.} If the player does not comply, Police craft would would be dispatched and would intercept in flight.

Ship similar to Mamba Racing Craft: This ship would be produced by the CCW and legalized by the Republic about 6 game-months later. The Regiment will refuse to legalize the Mamba because the others refuse to legalize the Fer-De-Lance. About 5 game-years from starting, both sides will cave in and these craft will be allowed anywhere.

Djinni Trading Craft: A large trader that has a large main thrust, but small retros. It's a good ship, but expensive. Made in the CCW. 3D images from Incoming!!!

Banshee: Basically a large, slow Osprey X-class ship made by the FFM, but it is supposed to be able to create energy-bombs after transit through hyperspace. 3D views from Incoming!!!

Basilisk Heavy Crusier: It's about the size of a Cobra Mk III. It's slightly slower than a Quest-class ship. Made by the Republic.

Basilisk Mk II: It's larger than the original Basilisk, but the designers managed to keep the same acceleration of the original. Made in the Republic. With 3D views from Incoming!!!

Goblin Attack Craft: A speedy small fighter. Mass-produced to be a pawn in military games. Comparable to a Falcon. Made in the Regiment.

Golem Heavy Trader: A small trader with many missiles, a front and back laser, an extremely thick hull, and poor maneuvering capability. Made in the CCW.

Autodrones: Small automated craft used for messenging and defense of private property. It is produced in the CCW.

The Marquette: Inspired by the shuttle in Earth: Final Conflict. It is a small passenger craft. Independently built.

Medusa: A medium sized craft with a tendrils and gravitic thrusters. Made for towing. Independently built.

Wraith: A small drone designed primarily for the defense of escape pods. A laser, a thruster, and a computer strapped together. Produced mainly in rogue shipyards in unaligned worlds or anarchies.

Prometheus: A military transport that is more commonly used as a light bomber. Produced in the Republic.

Manticore: To be medium attack ship. Expect it to be similar to a Viper 2, or perhaps a Cobra Mk 1. One critical difference will be its large rack of missiles. It's not a bad little ship, but it's not the greatest. Oddly enough, the design I had in mind looks like a cross between Jason's Phoenix and Massei's Lone II:. I may need to rethink it. Regiment built.
