"for unity cannot be based on doctrine..."--Eric Clayton

Revelation 22:17a

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come".
And let everyone who hears say, "Come".

General Purpose Statement

This page is an attempt to expose a lot of people to one of the greatest bands in the world. Their sound is a blend of the symphony mixed in with metal. Eric Clayton (the vocalist) has a voice that will utterly amaze you. What is more, they are singing for the glory of Jesus Christ. They really stand for something, and therefore I admire them all the more.

  • Here is an interesting clip about Legend III from an interview by Dethe. The interview used to be found at http://www.osmosismusic.com/SMinterview/.

Dethe: Will Part III continue with the music portraying all the chaos and darkness?

Eric: Part III will have some of the darkest, most intense music Saviour Machine has ever done. It will also be the most diverse. The first disc will cover the second half of the tribulation where Part II left off. This is the darkest hour of mankind, and the music will reflect that. Then, the second disc will be the end of the tribulation through the victory over Satan and ending with the end of sin and the believers living eternally with God.

  • Another interesting Legend III tidbit comes from an older interview by John J. Thompson. Some of this information might be a little out of date, since Eric was still talking about only doing a one disc Legend III, which is no longer the case. The interview used to be found at http://www.truetunes.com/savmach986.htm.

John: Are you going to take part 3 all the way to the end and the founding of the new Jerusalem?

EC: No. This story has been directed to be the story of the end of the world. It was crazy enough to even start this thing and to have the gall to say "hey I'm going to score a soundtrack for the apocalypse." But there's absolutely no way to even touch on the after-life, and what happens after Christ's return. This could be a whole other series of albums.

John: I'd love to hear you tackle something as uplifting and inspirational as the thousand-year reign of Christ.

EC: Yeah, that's the thing. We have to cover what happens from the time that the anti-Christ invades the temple, the "Abomination of Desolation; standing in the holy place" (Daniel) to the day that Christ returns at Armageddon to defeat him. To cover it in 80 minutes is going to be intense. Where does it stop?

John: Behold I saw a new Heaven and a New Earth?

EC: It depends on how much we can squeeze on there. I'd love to go as far as we can into the good stuff. This thing does have a happy ending, that's whole thing y'know. Because it has a happy ending, through the world's darkest hour, I'd love for this thing to have a happy ending. The Christian world knows it has a happy ending, but the non-Christian world needs to know that too. I guarantee that even if I don't understand at this point how to finish this thing, I do believe that God's will be done. I don't want to get too spiritual about this thing, but I do believe that this project is anointed in some way. I believe that the Hands of God have been on it since the beginning and I'm sure that in the end His purpose will be served.
