Wooo haw!!! I got ops!!!!!!! I got ops in #savagegarden on IRC! For those of you who don't know what ops are or what #savagegarden is or what IRC is... what rock have YOU been living under? Well IRC is a chat program, and #savagegarden is the best Savage Garden chat room on the net! I have been chatting there for over a year and there was recently an ops vote, and my fellow chan mates voted me and some other very special people who are friends of mine to be new ops in #savagegarden! Yeah sorry about not updating much, I have been kinda busy...

In chart news: SG debuted at #50 last week on the Billboard charts, this week they move up 32 spaces to be #28! WOW... with moves like that we may have another SG #1 on our hands! GO SG!

On the Casey Kasem wweekly top 40 show, The Animal Song went up a whopping 10 spaces to #24!

Yay! That is all I got for right now... Keep requesting SG and TAS everywhere!

In awards news: Yeah baybee! Congratulations Savage Garden! They have been nominated for Best Pop Group at this year's Blockbuster Awards! Go Darren! Go Daniel!
They are up against the Backstreet Bastards... whoops! Backstreet BOYS even... and The Spice Girl.

In chart news: The Animal Song debuted at #3 on the Australian ARIA charts for the week ending March 7!!!!! Wooooohoooo! Savage power!
The Animal Song also has made a chart debut in the USA! *jaw drops* I can't believe it! The US actually got a clue! Anyway, it isn't much but The Animal Song debuted at #34 on The Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 and at the same position for American Top 40 with Casey Kasem for the week ending March 5th.

In merchandise news: Savage Garden are in this week's (March 5,1999) Entertainment Weekly! They were given a review of The Animal Song! Yep I bought it and have it scanned for all you who either are too cheap to buy it or can't get access to it. Click here to read it! Now if you are going out to buy to buy it like a good SG fan then BEWARE... the cover has a huge frickin ugly picture of Britney Sluts... whoops I mean Spears... no... I was right the first time! Sorry to any Britney fans... *N Sync is also on the cover, but hey they are cool so I don't mind!

The Other Sister is now in movie theaters! Check it out!
The sound track for The Other Sister is also out! This is a really good soundtrack, my favorite since The City of Angels soundtrack! There is a song on there by The Soup Dragons that I totally have loved for years but was too lazy to actually go out and buy! So now I got it and I am jazzed! Here is the cover and a track listing:

In random nifty news: One year ago today Savage Garden reached it's highest point on the Billboard 200 album charts at #4! Congrats guys!

Savage Garden was featured in an article on Billboard Online: 'Sister' Singles Out Pretenders, Savage Garden, so check it out!

Savage Garden was also featured in an article from Hollywood Records: "THE OTHER SISTER" SOUNDTRACK DEBUTS TWIN SINGLES FROM SAVAGE GARDEN AND THE PRETENDERS. Take a minute to read this article! They have a lot of nice things to say about Savage Garden and it gives a track by track summary so you can find out about the other great artists on The Other Sister soundtrack!

In merchandise news: Get those pocketbooks out of the closet girls because it's Savage Garden spending time again! Well not like I ever stopped but hey now it's NEW stuff!
Savage Garden will have a review of The Animal Song in this coming week's Entertainment Weekly! Entertainment Weekly gave The Animal Song an A- which is pretty good for EW... They aren't always to generous. I will have a scan up of it as soon as I can! Meanwhile I have an article that quotes from the EW article up! It is from the 2/26 issue of Columbia's Daily Dish! In multimedia news: My good friend Toby, webmaster of The Unofficial Savage Garden Homepage, has made the ULTIMATE page about The Animal Song! Pictures, sound files, video files, interviews! Yeah long time no update... I was doing major updates when Fortuneshitty as I now call it decided to nuke everyone's pages, most of my stuff is back but if you have tried the Interviews Page, it is now GONE! Thank you SO much Fortuneshitty. I am in the process of moving my page to Virtual Avenue, I will let you all know when I do.

In webpage updates: I have added a link to the E! news and Hey Hey It's Saturday clip that was shown on Australian television! Check them out for some nifty news about The Animal Song! I think that is incredibly cheap. I mean REALLY! They can't even give us a B-side or even a TAS remix? SM bittersweet isn't even that great compared to some remixes. Anyway I am bitter over that. I will scan a copy of The Animal Song cover on Tuesday when it comes out.

The Sony Official Savage Garden site has been changed! Take a look at it! We will be getting lots of updates soon! I am so excited!

Savage Garden is being sued for alleged breach of contract with Hit Records who claim they had an agreement to manage the band back in 1994. To read the whole story check it out here from The Sunday Mail. More updates on this story to follow.

I GOT IT! Oh yeah I got the scoop on it ALL baybee!!! I have a whole copy of The Animal Song on Real Audio and on .wav and Mp3! I am putting up the Real Audio here because it is small enough and legal! If you want the others and you have ICQ email me and I will see about getting it to you! You can hear the song on Real Audio by clicking HERE! A very special thanks goes out to a couple of people... Sarah for recording it, and to Grant for all his work!

I also have news about the single and the soundtrack! According to Columbia Records the single for The Animal Song should be out in stores on February 23! OH MY GOD BIG SAVAGE GARDEN NEWS!!!!!! WOOHAW!!!!!

The Official Savage Garden site (Sony) was updated today!!! It says that Savage Garden will have a new single released in late February called "The Animal Song" from the motion picture soundtrack "The Other Sister," starring Juliette Lewis, Giovanni Ribisi, Tom Skerritt and Diane Keaton!!! The soundtrack will be released in March! The movie premieres March 5th! Look for them!!!

I also got an email today from a good friend telling me there was an article about this great news on the web! I took a look at it and here is a copy of the Savage Garden part!

Garden's "Animal Song," is due out on radio
and MTV in late February or early March --
more than three months after Savage Garden
recorded it in producer Walter Afanaseiff's

Hola again! I have a really big update to make today! This is all the info from Billboard Magazine from their special double issue: 1998 The Year In Music.
This issue had 2 sections, the regular Billboard Magazine and a special retrospective of music in 1998, with year end charts and critics' choices and all. It was on display from December 26- January 4.

Read what the critics had to say about the To The Moon & Back US Tour and how Savage Garden affected the year in Australian music! Dammit just READ it because it took me a helluva long time to type and my fingers hurt!!!

In year end chart news: Savage Garden's 1998 was one GREAT year, and this is how they ended the *other* charts.
VH1: In their Top 50 videos of 1998 Truly Madly Deeply was #7!
Rick Dees: On the Top 98 of 98 Truly Madly Deeply was #4 and To The Moon & Back was #61!
Casey Kasem: On the Top 100 of 1998 Truly Madly Deeply ended up the year at #3 and To The Moon & Back ended at #61!

In recent chart news: The album, which has spent a whopping 90 week on the charts rises to #95 from #98! It has spent the second most weeks in the top 100 of the Billboard 200 album charts! The only album to beat it was Spice by the Spice Girls who has been on for 100 weeks!
