ANWAR IBRAHIM¡¯S ¡°BLACK EYE¡± 
Saga happened in 
Limbang Police Station 
on 14-4-1999

(Sibu, 20th) The former Deputy Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim¡¯s ¡°Black Eye¡± saga happened in Limbang Police Station again. 

Mr. Hii Sing Sing (M) (39 yrs) while involved in a very minor road accident along Km 3, Jalan Kubong, Limbang, Sarawak was assaulted by traffic police personnels. The road accident happened on the 14-4-1999 @ 1750 hours. The assault took place at the site of accident and in front of large crowd of people gathered as a result of the accident. The police smashed his car windows and signal lights. 

Mr. Hii nearly knocked down two traffic policemen. The two policemen fell from their motorcycle were not injured. 

According to Mr. Hii, while under detention in the police station, he was further assaulted until he was unconscious. When he was remanded the next day, the Assistant District Officer sitting in as Magistrate ordered him to be examined and undergone a medical check-up. The suspect suffered swollen lips and blood stains on his body. He told the Magistrate that he was assaulted while under police custody.

Mr. Hii Sing Sing¡¯s brother Hii Sing Yong came to Sibu last Saturday (18-9-1999) to seek the help from the DAP State Chairman Wong Sing Nang. 

According to Mr. Wong, the medical examination in Limbang Hospital confirmed that Mr. Hii was assaulted while in police custody. 

Mr. Hii Sing Yong had lodged three police reports while his brother was in police detention pertaining to the assault. 

This is just another case of abuse of the power. The victim suffers the injustice while in police custody. 

Mr. Wong had written to The Commissioner of Police, Sarawak to seek his co-operation to direct Senior Officer to investigate the case. 

Everyone remembers that former DPM Mr. Anwar Ibrahim was assaulted badly while in police custody. The then IGP admitted to the Royal Commission of Enquiry to enquire into the Injuries of Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim whilst in custody that he assaulted the former DPM. The ¡°Black Eye¡± saga becomes ¡°Black Eye¡± for all Malaysians.
