National Art Gallery
A plot measuring 18055.55 sq. yards was acquired from CDA in sector F-5/1, Islamabad in 1994 for the construction of National Art Gallery. The PC-I at a total cost of Rs. 249.008 million was approved by ECNEC in its meeting held on 22.01.1998. The brief profile of the project is as under.
1. Three story Art Gallery having 12 different galleries with modern facilities
for various kinds of exhibition and display.
2. 450 seats most modern auditorium with theatre/ stage facilities.
3. Administrative/ teaching areas.
4. Open air theatre and cafeteria.
The construction work of the gallery started in 1997 which is expected to be completed in 2000, if funds flow freely.
Out Door Broadcasting Van
Audio Visual Mobile Van and Video Editing equipment has been donated by the Japanese Government under the cultural grant-in-aid to Pakistan National Council of the Arts at a cost of 47,100,000 Japanese yen (borne by the Japanese Government). This scheme was conceptually approved by the Concert Clearance Committee (CCC) in its meeting held on 04.09.1994.
Subsequently this scheme was also approved by the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) in its meeting held on 18.12.1994.
