Mary of the Moor Church

Franz Gruber served as sexton, organist, and choirmaster for the church in Arnsdorf. It is located next door to the schoolhouse where he and his family lived on the second floor. The Gruber apartment is now a museum.

This is the view from the lower loft. Above this is the choir loft where Franz Xaver Gruber played a Baroque pipe organ for the choir.
On December 27, 1998, a special concert for organ and trumpet was presented to commemorate the 180th anniversary of "Stille Nacht" featuring Dr. Karl Baier on the Gruber organ.

Baroque Pipe Organ

The organ was recently refurbished and concert choirs from around the world come to sing in the church.

Mary of the Moor

The image of Mary of the Moor can be seen in its place of honor above the main altar.
