zeroless introductory page

A website dedicated to the quest of gaining new perspectives
on the meaning of reality and being human.

On this website you will find a wide variety of materials. There are several articles, essays and other writings that were produced by Meindert Gijzen during the past 6 or 7 years.  A number of these writings have, in one way or another, to do with the vision of reality called Time, Space and Knowledge (shortly TSK), that was initiated by the Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku in 1977. I have been a student of this vision since 1990.

I bid my excuses to my Dutch readers who may be dismayed upon finding so much English material. The point is that Dutch (although a fine and complete language in itself) speaks to a too limited number of people. Feel free to print things out or quote from them if you like, but please be careful with materials that may have a tradionally sacred meaning and respect the rights and claims of the author.

This website is also partly dedicated to the study and exploration of dreams. This is a personal fascination that I would like to share with as many people as possible. An inquiry into the world of dreams has in common with the study of TSK that both focus and question our common assumptions on the nature of reality.

Apart from these two interests there are some pictures of a visit to Merigar in Italy where I attended a number of teachings of Namkhai Norbu. In the Dzogchen Teachings of this teacher one can find the subject of dreamyoga as well as exercises and instructions that have a lot of similarities with TSK. All these different subjects are (for me, at least) actually part of one and the same inquiry into the nature of awareness and reality. Dividing them up is an activity of the discursive mind but changes nothing about the nature of the whole.

The word "zeroless" is actually a word coming from one of the TSK-books. I like the word because it points to the unnameable, the ungraspable and universal. Tarthang Tulku writes: "When each point is zeroless, nothing fixed is setup or established. All appearance remains knowledgeable in the special sense that it is wholly accessible to knowledge. Zeroless space manifests the Body of Mind, supporting universal knowingness." (Dynamics of Space and Time, p. 45)

As this website is periodically being renewed, updated and expanded one does well to pay a regular visit!
