Coldplay played to a packed house last night at Sydney's Enmore Theatre. Lead singer Chris Martin got so carried away by with by the night's proceedings that he accidentally hit a fan on the head with a microphone stand.

At the keyboard, Martin shrugged off one song entirely, coughing and choking before dropping the microphone stand into the audience for the crowd to fill in the gaps - only to whack a fan on the head. He then apologised to the poor man but promptly dropped it on him again.
The band appeared in good spirits and happy to be playing to a packed audience as they dedicated the song Everything's Not Lost to England's cricketers.

Chris Martin smiled at screams of 'You Sexy Bastard!!' from a sizable British contingent in the crowd as he catapulted his frame awkwardly around the smallish stage.

Dressed in black, Martin swilled repeatedly on a water bottle and sang most of the 'Parachutes' album with reckless abandon, propelling himself into guitarist Jon Buckland and clearly struggling to contain his saliva whilst singing.

Yelling, 'I love you, Sydney!', Martin then asked if anyone's name was actually 'Sydney' and committed his undying love to one young man near the stage.

A mirrorball added a fitting dizziness to the art deco theatre for 'Yellow', played midset. The song was introduced as 'an obscure b-side by Status Quo that we took and turned into a big hit.'
