Has played over 500 games for the club, and he has played 100 games in the European Cup, one more than Gento. On November 7, 2000, against Spartak Moscow in Real Madrid's 1 - 0 deafeat, Sanchis reached a landmark 100 European games. Sanchis reached this figure after his 18th season at Real Madrid's first team, he has played 58 European Cup and Champions League matches, plus 35 in the UEFA Cup, six in the Cup Winners' Cup and one in the European Super Cup. At the age of 35, Sanch�s has played 522 League games for Real Madrid. His last season with the club as the player was his 18th season with the Real Madrid first team, having made his debut on 14 December 1983, and has played over 700 games for the team in official competitions. His record of 7 League titles, 2 Copa del Rey winners' medals, 1 League Cup, 5 Spanish Super Cup, 2 European Cups, 2 UEFA Cups and 1 Intercontinental Cup is only a sign of how good and reliable Sanchis has been over the years and was until he retired in 2001. During season 2000/2001 Sanchis announced this will be his last season as a player but the player that has reach legend status at Bernabeu it will not be his last season doing something important for Real Madrid (co-ordinator of a sports management course).
