You're probably asking why I even bothered to create this site. Sit down and let Aunt Bat tell you why my dears… It is my feeling that your home should be a sanctuary. Whether "home" is a house, apartment, a dorm room or just a bedroom, you should be comfortable in your surroundings. (I also just really enjoy handing out advice!) Most gothic dwellings that I have seen (and I have been guilty of this myself) tend to look like the Halloween department of the local discount store at 10 a.m. on November first after a bomb has been dropped on it! We've all at one point or another been forced to live with the cheap, plastic Halloween decorations because it's either all we can afford, or all we can find. I wanted to prove to all you little Gothlings out there that it doesn't have to be that way, *and* I'm here to show you how. So, come see children… Come see that you can Doom It Yourself!

For those of you who have visited my site before, you'll notice that it has undergone further changes. I have deleted a lot of graphics in favor of photo storage space. And I have added an update section to keep you up to date with what I am working on. The first few pages really haven't been changed and are still a bit wordy, but I think I've included some good, helpful information, if I do say so myself.
The sections have been re-vamped: the "virtual tour" of my apartment is on hold, however, I have added a new project section. In addition to the two DIY galleries of finished projects (#1 finished projects by me, #2 finished projects by readers) I will soon be adding a gallery of projects done by my sister, Anne Cordelia, and a section of projects that I am currently working on with step-by-step how-to guides. (something everyone was asking for…) Finally, I have decided to keep the "Spooky House of the Month!" up and running for the time being. I have had one spooky house to date, so go see how to submit your Doomed Place and win an Award! I hope everyone likes the new and improved DIY! And whether this is your fist visit or your fifth, come sign the guest-book and let me know how I'm doing!
