Wow! It's cold outside. The whole month. The accumlation of cold all winter comes to an apex in February. It's still dark most of the time, and the frost has been driven deep into the ground by four months of below freezing temperatures.
The coldest I've ever seen is 70 below zero. We were driving our 1967 Pontiac Tempest back from a trip to Indiana. We didn't dare turn our car off. We left it running for five days straight, just kept filling it up with gas.
Even though February has more daylight than January, often the temperatures are just as cold. I can remember one month when it didn't get above 30 below zero the whole month of February.
This is a good month for a vacation. It seems like winter is never going to be over by then. When you get back, it's March and spring is just around the corner.
