Next is January

Does it really get that dark in Alaska?

Let me put it this way.  Is this text difficult to read on this background?  Imagine trying to drive down the road everyday with the same view.  If you put your headlights on bright, you have the distinct feeling of piloting a starship.

Ahhhhh, that's much better.  The sun comes up around 10:30 a.m. and goes down before 3 in the afternoon  If I sleep late, I can easily miss a whole day.

Fairbanks is a few miles north of North Pole, the town.  We get a lot of cold weather.  Fairbanks is situated south of the Arctic Circle.  The coldest it has been this month has been 10 below zero F.  I remember a December that dropped to 55 below zero Fahrenheit.

I use winter as a time to catch up on indoor projects like updating my web pages.  At least once a week, friends come over to sing, play cards, visit or study.  Therefore, even if I haven't been out of the house much that week, I associate with my friends.  I crochet and I love snuggling in front of the fireplace.

Snowplows push the snow off the roads.  After awhile the highways clear off down to the pavement from the busy traffic.
