Galaxy

This galaxy was discovered by Delisle Stewart on photographic plates taken with the 24-inch Bruce refractor at the Arequipa station of Harvard College Observatory. It is described as: "extremely faint, very large, much elongated in PA 20 , a little brighter in the middle."

Burnham calls this a 12.3 mag spiral galaxy in Centaurus, 4' x 1.3', pretty faint, pretty large, pretty much elongated and very gradually a little brighter in the middle.
