h: “pB, R, gbM, has 2 or 3 stars very near it.” On a second occassion he called it “F, R, gbM, 25 arcseconds, between two stars.” His third observation was recorded as “F, S, lE, bM, 15 arcseconds long, 12 arcseconds broad.” The final record reads: “pB, R, pgbM, 25 arcseconds.”

Steve Coe, observing with a 13” f/5.6, notes: “Faint, small, little elongated 1.5 X 1 PA 75, somewhat brighter in the middle at 135X. There are two 12th mag stars which bracket the galaxy on either side.”

The RNGC (Sulentic and Tifft 1973) notes that this is a 12.0 mag galaxy. Their coded description reads SB,BDDIFARMS,WDBBAR DIF FIL CONNECT ARMS AT ENDSOF BAR.
