The Client's contribution

No Project can be successful without a close working relationship between the Parties involved. The Client does not wish to see his Budget exceeded, he does not want the facility commissioned late and he needs to be satisfied that he is getting good value and quality for his investment. However, to achieve these criteria we need to receive all essential decisions as and when they are required. For these reasons, it is essential that we establish clear lines of communication:-

Lines of Communication:- The Client ==> The Client's 'Project Co-ordinator' ==> Ourselves ==> the Designers and Contractor.

Essentially, we act as the fulcrum in the Contract by obtaining and co-ordinating the Clients instructions and similarly in resolving all queries from and instructing the Designers and the Contractor on how to proceed.

For all Projects, we would request that the Client nominates a suitable senior person to act as his Project Co-ordinator. The appointed person does not have to be a construction specialist but more importantly a person who knows and understands the Clients business intimately and can convey his requirements to us accurately when requested. This person is therefore the keystone to successful communication and an efficient Contract administration.

The nominated person may alternatively be selected from the Client's own retained Consultant Company and as a member of the Client's team would be empowered to instruct us in all Contract matters.

One major benefit of the afore-mentioned clear and efficient decision making process is that the Contractor is less well positioned to make extra financial claims under the terms of the Contract.
