001 [1.01-90] A Day in the Life of Wood Newton (1) / Haeusliche Probleme (1)
In the evening, Wood's football team loses another match. During the
match, the well-known stripper Fontana Beausoleil protests against
Ava running for General District Attorney and the photo of that
incident, showing her and Wood, in the morning paper isn't a good
start into the new day, Wood's birthday and his and Ava's wedding
anniversary. Then Ava also has to learn that she is pregnant again,
although it should have been impossible because of Wood's vasectomy.
Being pregnant four weeks before the elections for the new DA doesn't
improve her chances. The math teacher Herman is assigned Wood's
new assistant coach and Wood's son Taylor announces that he wants
to leave the football team. And that's just the beginning of a
real bad day for Wood.

002 [1.02-90] A Day in the Life of Wood Newton (2) / Haeusliche Probleme (2)
The day goes on and though it should be kept a secret until the
elections are over, the whole town soon knows of the upcoming baby.
Ava, angry with Wood, doesn't talk to him, but talking with the kids
makes her realize that, in fact, she happy about the new baby. In the
evening the birthday party for the coach takes place with all of his
friends.

004 [1.04-90] Whatever Happened to Clutch Newton? / Der Sturz des grossen Helden
A reporter team comes to town to interview one of the greatest
football stars in history - Wood Newton. In the course of this
Harlan shows a tape of Wood's greatest success from his high
school days - the winning of the championship. But back then when
Wood caught the decisive ball he was, with one foot, cleary out of
bounds. Knowing this fact comes close to a catastrophy for most
people living in Evening Shade.

005 [1.05-90] Fast Women / Liebe macht blind
Taylor has fallen for the 18 years old (and therefore the much-too-
old-for-him) Michelle. Ava learns that two of the most important men
in her life are dating 'non-acceptable' persons and she demands that
Wood should talk to both of them, Taylor and Evan. Wood, too, isn't
pleased about the relationship between Taylor and Michelle, especially
after he has talked to Michelle, but he can only trust in Taylor doing
the right thing.

006 [1.06-90] Sadie Hawkins Dance / Damenwahl
It's Sadie Hawkins week - the students play pranks on the football
coach and vice versa. And Wood has a great idea for a trick but
this backfires when Herman is too nosy. For the Sadie Hawkins dance
Taylor is asked out by a not so popular girl: when she phoned him
he thought it was his flame Jennifer. Now his parents insist on
keeping the date.

007 [1.07-90] All for Charity / Der Hauptgewinn
Harlan organizes a benefit auction so they can afford new dresses
for the cheerleaders. Originally it's Harlan's idea but Wood has no
chance to refuse it - so Wood's contribution is 'A Weekend with Wood'.
This is something Herman can't miss and he offers the highest bid.
The following weekend at the Newton's Herman drives Wood crazy: He
follows his idol Wood wherever he goes, turns everything upside down
and inside out, and a cannon really helps speeding up things.

008 [1.08-90] The Moustache Show / Schmach und Schnaeuzer
The football team loses again, this time against the other loser team
which has lost even more consecutive games. Now Wood's team is close
to capturing this record. Back in the restaurant Will asks why daddy
has this mustache and Ponder answers that 'he doesn't dare to cut it
off' and Frieda adds 'he would be happy if someone does it'. Though
both of them were just kidding, Will takes this seriously. After a
night where he and Frieda tanked a lot Wood wakes up in the morning
with a half shaved mustache.

The citizens go crazy when a team of film makers comes to town.
Everyone tries to get a part in the movie, but the main part to
give away goes to Wood, beside Ponder the only one who really
doesn't care about being part of it. The snooty and conceited
star of the movie drives Wood mad when everything must go after
her mind.

011 [1.11-90] Hooray for Wood / Algebra-Match
Wood's offensive line failed the math test and now the boys are
suspended from the team - and that just before the game against
Evening Shade's arch rival Piggot, a game which the Mules haven't
won since 1959. But the boys will get another chance one day later,
so it is Herman's turn to teach them math on one evening. But it
takes more than Herman: Frieda ...

This time Wood is so fed up that he decides to give away the presents
to a poor family. The clan also faces another problem: Will doesn't
believe in Santa Claus any more. And he convinces Nab, too, that
there's no Santa Claus. To prove this they both wish something no

and though it looks like a happy ending for Ava, it seems to end
better for her opponent. Voters say that she has a perfect knowledge
in her field but listening to her is like a sleeping pill. But she
has a funny side, too, which takes over in a radio talk show (with
the current General DA opposing) after Wood has done the initial
step.

sue him. Later in the restaurant, Wood meets a big fan of his and
Evan's broken nose is the topic of the talk going on. After Wood has

It's time to recruit a team for the next season. But the few boys
willing to play are not kind of, well, football-player-type. Also
two girls apply for the team: Yvette and Yvonne. The crucial part
of the decision to make is they are really good. The women in town
are urging for a 'yes', the men, shocked even about the thought,
are urging Wood for a 'no'. Now, besides a record losing streak,
Evening Shade's team is right on their way to make a fool out of
themselves again - in front of the press, who doesn't want to miss
this at all costs ...

The ride to the hospital starts with more people than are actually
arriving at the hospital when Wood without further ado throws half
of the people out of the car. There some bad news are coming up:
The baby has a weak heart beat and it seems that the umbilical
cord is wrapped around the baby's throat. The baby must be born
through a Ceasarian.
