Mikado Sanzenin is the other half of the Legendary  Golden Pair of Kolhotz High School.  He appears when Akane finds Azusa with P-Chan after the kidnapping, and takes P-Chan from Azusa, returning him to Akane.  Azusa whacks him on the head about 18 times before he tells her to knock it off.  He then attempts to kiss Akane as a token of his apologies for Azusa's behaviour, but Ranma hits him with a fish sausage, and he accepts Ranma's challenge.  Azusa then beats him for the fish sausage, Francois.
                Later Mikado encounters Ranma in his female form at the local skating rink, where he saves Ranma from falling (Ranma can't skate for beans). Mikado then kisses Ranma as a reward for saving her, and Ranma freaks out.  Ranma runs off, changes back to a guy, comes back and beats the crap out of Mikado (he barely wins).
                Before the Charlotte Cup, Mikado tells Ranma that he intends to kiss Akane during the competition, and therefore having kissed one thousand girls.  Ranma threatens Mikado's life during the match, and Mikado vows to split up Ranma and Akane.  When Ryoga enters the arena, he changes Ranma into a girl in the hope that he would get to pair up with Akane, but Ranma takes Ryoga and continues the match.  Ryoga and Ranma fight after getting trashed twice by the Golden Pair, but Mikado attacks Ryoga in protection of his "pig-tailed princess", and Azusa knocks out Mikado with a huge mallet for hurting her Charlotte.  The Golden Pair then forfeits the match.
