Welcome to the Coven Of The Good Witch

What is Witchcraft?
The Craft is an active Pagan Tradition, and we at the Coven Of The Good Witch believe that we can, and do, hold influence over the lives and destinies of ourselves and others. It is an earth-centered path, based upon the beliefs that life is sacred, the Earth is holy, and that the Divine can be found within.
When we meet we raise circles, perform rituals such as healings, blessings and so on, and do meditation and mental exercise designed to aid the focus of will and mental energy. Above all, we worship the Divine, and we strive to become more aware of the mystical nature of the Universe.
What makes The Coven Of The Good Witch unique?
WitchCraft is centered on the belief that to truly find the Divine, we must challenge our beliefs, our thoughts, our habits and our deeds. Through group interaction, we explore the 'big questions' as well as perform regular ritual and meditation. In group discussion, there are no 'right' or 'wrong' answers, just as there are no 'right' or 'wrong' beliefs.  WitchCraft combines discussion and analytical thought with ritual, physical wellbeing and deep study of the self and our relationship with the Divine.
As well as study groups,
The Coven Of The Good Witch has a open membership Community Service Program that offers a wealth of opportunities for students to volunteer their time and talents to help those in need.  Those in need may be a preschooler or a homeless person, a teenager in a group home or an elderly person confined to a nursing home.  Whether it be a one-time beach clean up or a commitment of tutoring once a week,
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change theworld.
Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
The Good Witch Of The North also comprises a private teaching Coven. The aim of the Coven is to meet regularly face to face, supporting each other as we grow and develop our strength as  Witches. We are also working together to develop the Tradition and its rites and study topics.

The lessons are based on the Celtic wiccan tradition.
They are the same lessons that our Inner circle members take.
Each degree takes the traditional one year and a day.
At the completion of each degree, you will receive a certificate on parchment attesting to the fact that you have met the requirements of The  Coven Of The Good Witch Of the North,
for that Degree.
Each lesson has a quiz with multiple choice answers.
We require 100% on the quiz's.
The quiz will be given through the chat room at the members only forum.
At the end of the lessons for each degree there is a final exam.
We require 95% for the exam.
Each degree also has extracurricular activities assigned.
For instance, for the first degree we require members to write a ritual for one of the sabbats. We also require you to implement a community project of your choice. This can be a tree planting, stream cleanup, food drive, ect.

By agreeing to take the lessons, you are also agreeing to become an Outer circle member. At the time of signup we will need to have your full name and a P.O. box where we can send your membership card and at the time of completion, your certificate. This information is retained by our archivist and is not available to any third parties.

Upon completion of the course, you will recieve the Outer circle pendant, degree certificate, and cord with degree knot at no expense to yourself. We don't believe in allowing the material thing to interfere with the spiritual aspect.

Our members are well educated in the pagan lifestyle and stand ready to assist you in any questions you may have in regards to the lessons or pagan life in general.
If you are interested, we would like to hear from you.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Note:
Membership to the Coven is currently closed, and positions are rarely available. When a position becomes available, it will be advertised at this website.
About The Coven Of The Good Witch:

Our Group a long with other Pagan traditions incorporate the fastest growing group of religions in the United States, and there are indications that a similar trend is happening all over the world.
Possible reasons for this include:
The acknowledgement of the feminine aspect of the Divine. Many women, dissatisfied with the traditional patriarchal faiths of the Western World, are seeking a religion that embraces their femininity, and that includes, rather than excludes, women and female spirituality.
The recognition of individual responsibility. Pagan religions tend to have no divine scriptures, and no dogmatic texts indicating what we must and must not do. Instead, interpretation of a moral code is left to the individual, and to individual responsibility.
Active, rather than passive, religious practice. The Coven Of The Good Witch (and Pagans in general) are active participants in ritual and interaction with the Divine, rather than being passive observers. Many people find this aspect particularly satisfying.
Religious tolerance. Most Traditions accept that there are many paths for those seeking the Divine, and that they can be equally valid. In a changing world where there is ever-increasing interaction between members of different faiths, this stance is a great strength and source of appeal.
Our Beliefs and Practices

The Craft is not a religion based on a central doctrine, religious text or set of theological assumptions, so it is quite an individual religion, and we practise our beliefs in a myriad of ways. Certainly there is no paid, professional hierarchy or religious seat of power.

We worship the Divine in the likeness of God and Goddess forms from around the world, and many believe in reincarnation. Because the belief in immanence (belief that the Divine resides in all things) is widely held, many in the craft support the environmental and animal rights movements.  and environmental responsibility are common ethics, and are encouraged
