GBFA pp.25-26: Joseph Barney died while still a young man, leaving a family of nine children, the eldest of whom was only 18. Samuel Bullock of Rehoboth was appointed guardian of the eldest child, Jonathan, on april 14, 1746; Aaron Kingsley was appointed guardian of the third child, Joseph. Their uncle Daniel Barney was appointed guardian of the five youngest children (Ruth, Benjamin, Patience, Hezekiah and Joanna) on Nov. 3, 1747 (Taunton Probates 11:369). The guardianshps for #2 Jacob and #4 Martin has not been discovered.
