NATIONAL MILD DAY OF ACTION

May is Mild Month, and activity peaks on CAMRA's national day of action.
Ask your landlord to stock a cask conditioned mild in May - but make sure you support him or her by drinking it!
Mild is a tasty drink, which usually has a lower hop rate than other beer styles, and usually (though not always) has a lower alcohol content than bitters and stouts writes Gene Bailey.
The Potteries is not a big mild drinking area, and for this reason cask mild is getting harder to find. However, there are still some excellent milds out there, and my favorites available locally are: - Bateman's Dark Mild (3%), almost black - a classic mild; Cain's Dark Mild (3.2%), a smooth, dry, mild from Liverpool; Whim Magic Mushroom (3.8), ruby-black, a rich sweetish-mild available at the Wilke's Head in Leek; Moorhouses Black Cat Mild (3.4%), well balanced and fruity; try it at the Blue Bell, Kidsgrove; Titanic Dark Mild (3:5%), locally brewed and tasty; Highgate Dark (3.4%), the house-mild at the Malt 'n' Hops, Fenton; Chester's Dark Mild (3.5%), on at the White Swan, Middleport; Banks's Mild (3.5%), widely available locally as Banks 's Original.
