There were celebrations all round at the
Bull's Head, Burslem, when in February, Titanic Brewery scooped
three awards for their beer in the Small Independent Brewers Association
(SIBA) North Midlands round of the National competition, reports
brewer Ian (Brad) Bradford
Titanic's most recent addition to their regular beer portfolio,
Dark Mild, won the Muds, Stouts and Porters class. The ever popillar
Titanic Premium won the premium bitters up to 4.7% abv class.
But most satisfyingly, the 4.8% abv White Star won the strong
bitters over 4.7% class.
Titanic Premium then went on to win the Supreme Champion Award,
and the winning beers will go to the national competition later
this year
These are the first competition successes Titanic have had for
over three years, and my first since I took over the brewing about
18 months ago. Yet again, Titanic beers are being recognised as
a quality product.
Everyone at Titanic is pleased to be back on the winning trail
again, and we're sure that these industry successes will soon
be followed by consumer competition awards. Our beers are now
available all over the country, and we have a consistent product
range.
The SIBA competition co-incided with the return of the ever popular
Bull's Read beer festivals. However, as it was February, the pub
yard was not used this time, but there was still the familiar
mix of Titanic and guest beers in abundance, with live music to
keep everyone entertained.
The 2nd 2000 Bull's Head Beer Festival will
be 27th April to 1st May with 30 beers on tap!
