| That's
my sister and behind her is the Australian Woolshed. |
Before:
Here,
we see a sheep about to undergo a 'haircut' |
After: the sheep after
the woolshed. It doesn't take very
long, although I know that's a lot of wool. The guy on the left
said that the whole process isn't painful at all for the sheep.
The trick is to keep the animal still. |
Here's a sheep dog on
a sheep. Out in the field, a sheep
dog keeps sheeps from straying out of the herd and guard
the herd from predators such as foxes. |
Each sheep is named or
numbered for reference. |
Yup, that's me. Yeah,
yeah, I know I look... Hey, let's get on
with the tour. Milking the cow was fun. But everytime I
squeeze the thing, only a little milking spits out and into the
pail below. Of course this milk must be processed first
before consumption. |

Despite its name, the
woolshed not only has sheep, but also
animals like Koala Bears and Kangaroos too. |
And here's more
Koalas. Koalas are shy animals and don't
move very much either. |
Like Pandas, Koalas
are very choosy animals and only eat
certain leaves. Here you can see the Koalas feeding on
leaves. |

Hey, it's not free.
You have to pay to
hold this little fella. |
All my sister said was
that the animal
was furry and held on to her like there
were foxes below. |

Here are the
kangaroos. Sometimes, they run away if you
come too close but they'll come to you if you have food. |

What are you looking
at? Grrr... |
The Australian Woolshed is a cool place to be if
you come from a urban place. Sometimes, its good to be with some low tech
stuff. Here, you see how a sheep is shed off its wool. The whole process
doesn't take very long although there's a lot of wool. The trick is to keep
the sheep still, if it moves around or struggles, you can injure the animal.
The wool is as floor mats and clothing. In time, the sheep will grow its
wool back, only to be shed off again.
Despite
its name, the Australian Woolshed doesn't only have sheeps. It keeps some
Koalas and Kangaroos as well. The
Koala certainly is cute but they're also shy creatures and don't move around
much. They just cling on to a branch and stay there like forever. You are
allowed to hold a Koala bear but it's gotta cost you some $$$$$. You
also have a chance to milk a cow. I tried it and it's kinda fun too.
