Capital city of the state of New South Wales or NSW(for short), Sydney is Australia’s oldest and largest city and is one of the

country's major economic centres. With mild winters and summers a little less warm than that of Melbourne and Darwin, Sydney definitely has a more comfortable weather.

For transportation, monorails and trains are Sydney's answer to Melbourne's electric trams. The monorail reaches virtually everywhere in the Central Business District. The tracks
even run through buildings and across bridges. However, the monorail is only one-way transport. You take a trip from A to B on a monorail,  but not in reverse. But that's why there's the subway, also known as the City Circle. Many of Sydney's main tourist attractions are within reach of this easy and inexpensive way of transport.

Sydney also owns some of the world's most famous landmarks including the Sydney Opera House, the harbour bridge and the Sydney Tower. The tower is one of the highest structures in the southern hemisphere. At its top is not
only the observation decks but also a rotating restaurant that overlooks this magnificent city. If you're more into
adventure, then  try climbing the harbour bridge. Day and night climbs are available and groups are always accompanied by a trained guide.

Like Singapore, it's cheaper to watch a movie on Tuesdays in Sydney. There's also a Sega World theme park at Darling Harbour where visitors have to pay a flat entrance fee for unlimited play as long as you like and an IMAX theatre just beside it. If you want to get in touch with nature without leaving the city limits, there's the Botanic Gardens, Centenial Park and Hyde Park.

The city would be even more beautiful at night when buildings 'light up'. The city's inhabitants had a love for night life. Stroll along Darling harbour and you'll hear disco beats. Yet the shops and malls close early unlike those in Singapore which closes at
9pm-10pm. The city sure has a very low crime rate too. I took a stroll along Darling Harbour late at night and I don't feel the slightest discomfort. And yes, the people are very friendly too. When I was at the bridge at Darling Harbour taking photos of the city, one passer-by murmured "secret service..." as he walk past me. Man, that was funny. Hehe.
