Sand Diaries Day 4

Who would be King?

Who would be King? Eric Fonoimoana, that's my pick. Eric has been on fire all weekend, totally dominating his pool on Friday. On Saturday Eric picked up where he left off Friday, dominating in a strong pool including reigning King Jose Loiola, Adam Johnson and Mike Whitmarsh. While playing in the third game with Adam Johnson, Jose recieved a red card, allowing Mike Whitmarsh to sneak through the back door for this pool.

In the second pool, all eyes were on Rod Heidger. After getting in as an alternate when Randy Stoklos failed to show up on Friday, he dominated his pool on Friday. This had the makings of Cinderella story.

In the first game, Karch Kiraly and Canyon Ceman mowed down Heidger and Steffes 15-4. In the second game, Karch was paired with Heidger and was able to collect 8 points in a 15-8 loss against Ceman and Steffes.

In the final game, Ceman was paired with Heidger against Steffes and Kiraly, and was able to extract 6 points from his partner before losing 15-6. This was enough to beat out Steffes by two points for the second qualifying spot along with Karch for tomorrow's showdown.

So, Canyon Ceman, Karch Kiraly, Eric Fonoiamoana, and Mike Whitmarsh will square off Sunday to find out who will be King.
