| First Round (Friday, March 13)
If prior to the start of match play, one or more players are unable
or unavailable to play (for any reason), then an alternate(s) will be
selected based on next available ranking. Such an alternate will be
eligible to compete in the tournament under the same provisions as the
other players and will assume the seeding of the players he replaced.
If during the First Round, a player becomes unable or unavailable to
play for any scheduled match, then that player becomes ineligible for
the remainder of the tournament. His score for any match in progress
and the rest of his scheduled matches are scored at the maximum 0-15.
If this occurs during a match, the remaining player stays eligible for
receiving the results from the match utilizing an "alternate". That
alternate will play in the matches in place of the withdrawn player,
but he will only be eligible for "match money"..
Second Round (Saturday, March 14)
If prior to the start of match play, one or more players are unable
or unavailable to play, for any reason, then an alternate will be selected
based on results from the prior day's competition. Such an alternate
will be allowed to compete as a "eligible" player in the tournament
and will assume the "seeding" of the person he replaced. If during this
second round of competition a player is unable or unavailable to compete
in a schedule match, then that player will receive a 0-15 score for
a match in progress and 0-15 for any remaining matches as well as a
disqualification for the tournament. If a match is in progress, then
an alternate will be selected and the match will continue without any
penalty given to the remaining players. This alternate will only be
eligible for "match money". .
The Finals (Sunday, March 15)
If prior to the start of match play, a player is unable or
unavailable to play, for any reason, then an alternate will be selected.
Such an alternate will only be eligible to play for "match money" and
not for the overall prize pool. If during this phase of competition
a player is unable or unavailable to play, for any reason, then an alternate
will be selected. Such an alternate will only be eligible for "match
money".
Notes: If at any point a player withdraws or is disqualified, he will
receive all "match money" earned to that point but he will drop to the
lowest "finish-place" and corresponding prize purse for that days competition.
(Day 1 = 14th, Day 2 = 8th and Day 3 = 4th) The Competition Director
will determine the warm-up period for situations involving injury or
an alternate replacement. The injured/withdrawn player's partner continues
each match with the designated alternate at the point where the match
was interrupted with no penalty.
