Kaji Ryouji. He works for Special Investigation Department of Nerv and also ,as "part time", Department of Interior of Japan. A friend of Misato and Ritsuko since their college days at the Tokyo-2 University. He had a relationship with Misato then they broke up. Kaji is the playful type but when he is working he is very serious. He usually can be seen playing with women. Almost often, he can be seen with Asuka who keeps clinging on to him in any given opportunity. When he is not working, he can be seen along the pastures around Nerv HQ.
