This is the Gigantic Droid Guardian, Darth Vaders personal security system, designated name: PYRO.He is activated only when the site is trespassed by Rebels or other ennemies of the Empire.
This huge droid hunts the intruders down and guards this site, he is perfectly harmless for Imperials. although he can get itchy when you get to close...!!
