The scent of wildflowers draws you to the garden. It is filled with the rich hues
of springtime and summer, a combination never seen in the natural world. Along its periphery
are creeping phlox, lobelia, and forget-me-nots growing from between the rocks. There are
groups of tulips staggered throughout the garden: bridal white, rosy pink, yellow, and ruby
red goblets to capture the morning dew. The tiny lion-face of a panzy seems to return your gaze
as you lose yourself in the stunning colours and sweet scents.
The sound of laughter kisses your ear again. You look around, but you see no one.
"You are looking far too far," a tiny voice calls out. "Look again!" You stand up and look
behind you. Still no one. The voice sounds small, so you stoop to scan the ground. Finally your
eyes meet hers: She is a faerie child sitting among the roses. She laughs again as you stare at
her with childlike wonder. A faerie!! She mocks you, staring playfully back. Then, all of a
sudden, she is gone again. You blink your eyes in amazement, wondering what could have caused
such a peculiar vision. When you finally convince yourself that you had imagined her, she
reappears, laughing like a tiny silver bell. Then, before you know it, she vanishes.
Elven music rises up through the trees of the forest behind you. You
want to run to it, to search them out, but you are afraid of losing your way. A haunting voice
seems to speak from the brook: "You have already lost your way. What you always knew to be only
a dream is now a reality for you. For the first time, your eyes and your heart are wide
open. Go. Explore your new world..." The voice disappears in the babble of the brook as you
disappear into the forest...
