The Heart of the Home...

You walk through the doorway into the library. It is a large, bright room with a brick hearth against one far wall. The rich smell of cherry wood fills the room with a feeling of comfort; A fire is already burning there. As you look around, you can't help noticing the way the large room seems to embrace you. Sunlight floods in through a bay window, lighting the entire face of the opposite wall. Rays of light illuminate the portraits hanging there. You are entranced by this wonderful room. What treasures are to be found in a place such as this?

You begin to turn round and round as you stand in the heart of this great room. Everything spins around like a giant kaleidoscope. You turn faster and faster, trying to regain, even if only for a moment, the joy you found in dizziness as a child. You stop spinning and try to walk forward. The room falls around you, and you laugh to yourself as you land on the floor. Childlike laughter echoes from outside...

After a short rest to regain your composure, you begin to browse. Against the wall opposite the fireplace is an old wooden desk. On it lies a bottle of ink and a feather pen. Above the desk is a bookshelf just overflowing with books, including an old, leatherbound notebook. You smile as you read some of the titles: Les Misérables, The Canterbury Tales, The Glass Menagerie, A Doll House, The Iliad... You take one of the books in hand and move toward the window. A wooden rocking chair seems to have been placed there for your repose. This room is the heart of Ellie's Cabin. It posesses all the warmth and comfort of home...
