Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Since there can be no "Letters to the Editor" for the first issue I have made is what maybe Frequently Asked Questions about the newsletter, the web site, and other related information.

Q: What is the Main Purpose of The Freeman Repository?

A: To establish an online site where the researchers of the surname FREEMAN can find additional information about the surname and to be a repository for "Primary" Source FREEMAN documents.

Q: Is there any cost involved for me to receive notification of this newsletter?

A: There is NO COST to anyone for the services of The Freeman Repository, all costs are being taken care of by The Editior, Doug Hunkele, a.k.a Cousin Doug.

Q: How do you get your Primary Source FREEMAN Documents?

A: The source documents used in the newsletter and in the Repository are submitted by the readers of the newsletter. ANYONE can submit a copy of a source document for inclusion in the newsletter or the Repository. Submissions can be via any means: snail mail, e-mail, download from personal site. Those readers who do not have access to a scanner may even submit the data to Cousin Doug who will scan it and return the document(s).

Q: How is the "Link of the Month" selected?

A: Each month 3 sites will be selected by the staff of The Freeman Respository and then each reader may submit their choice for Link of the Month. Readers may also submit other sites for Link of the Month as long as the site contains surname FREEMAN information and is not a "commerical" site.

Q: I noticed that you like the word "FREE" in your newsletter pages, Why is that?

A: Sharing information with other researchers is a primary goal of this site and newsletter. Many of us are nickeled and dimed to death and anytime anyone can get something of value for FREE to assist in the research of our ancestors the newsletter will let you know about it.

Q: Will this Frequently Asked Questions page be always available?

A: Yes! There will be a link from the Home Page of The FREEMAN Repository for FAQ.

Q: Cousin Doug, Whats with all the Chains??? Are you going "kinky" on us?

A: There is no "hand-cuffs" so don't worry... actually it is a graphic that I use for a play on words of the FREEMAN LINKS site and the FREEMAN WEB LINKS... like links in a chain we are only as strong as the weakest link
