All researchers should not only bookmark the page for the USIGS but should join the organization. Why is that? Well lets just review what there main purpose is:

The people of USIGS are genealogists who want to see the maximum possible number of primary source documents online and accessible to Family and other Historians on the web for free. (Hey our favorite word - FREE)

There is more to the objectives of the organization but the above item puts it all in a nutshell, Primary Source Documents Online. This is a Non-Profit organization, there is no fee for membership or access to any of the source documents that they have or links to source data.

The SIGGY award, above, is presented to a site each month that meets a certain critiria. Each of the winners and honorable mention sites will fill your screen with pages of source information. The collection of data is being added at a constant rate, so there is always something new to go for. At the current time a majority of the source documents are located through USGENWEB but there are others.
