to smell the roses, and to listen, with your heart. For you never know when you will have the chance to listen as people in our lives too soon, do they depart...

Well, I hope to make this a philoshophical page.

People pass in and out of our

lives so quickly.too quickly,

sometimes. I have discovered,

If you take the time to listen,

to really liste

You can learn so much.

Listen to the man sitting on the bench.

He may have some very sage advice.

Listen to your partner and they

will remain a friend, for life.

Listen to your children as you

sit and watch them grow.

For if you don't listen, when they're

children, you lose them as people

that you will never know.

Listen to the music, it is

the language of the world.

It will lighten your heart

and give you strength as

your place in the world unfolds.

Listen for the cries of pain,

and try to ease the sound.

Listen for the yells of laughter,

and make your heart swell.

Listen to the soul within,

when dealing in a world without.

For if more people, listened ~~ really listened...

The troubles in the world...we would live without.

When you thought I wasn't looking,

I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator,

and I wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking,

I saw you feed a stray cat,

and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking,

I saw you make my favourite cake just for me,

and I knew that little things are special things.

When you thought I wasn't looking,

I heard you say a prayer,

and I believed there is a God I could always

talk to.

When you thought I wasn't looking,

I felt you kiss me good night,

and I felt loved.

When you thought I wasn't looking,

I saw tears come from your eyes,

and I learned that sometimes things hurt,

but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking,

I saw that you cared

and I wanted to be everything

that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked...

and wanted to say thanks for all the things

I saw

when you thought I wasn't looking.

TODAY

Today's the day I'll make my world shine brighter.

I'll keep a friendly smile upon my face.

I'll hug the ones I love a little tigher.

My home will be a warmer, kinder place.

Today I'll work for peace and understanding,

And in whatever job I have to do

I'll try to be more patient, less demanding

; And listen well to other points of view..

Today I want to be alot more giving

And spend less evergy on long-past griefs.

Today I plan to put more joy in living,

By practicing, not preaching, my beliefs...

Today I'll make somebody's burden lighter.

I'll raise a lamp of hope for all to see.
