What is the North End?
The North End is the supporters section for the Columbus Crew
- its where you'll find the fans who stand, sing, make noise,
and generally have a great time at Crew games.
Where is the North End?
The North End is located in section 137 of Hunt Park (officially
called Columbus Crew Stadium) - directly behind the north goal.
Who is involved in the North End?
Basically, anybody who wants to be - there's no requirements for
membership or anything. As long as you love the Crew and want
to stand and make noise, that's good enough for the rest of us.
What else does the North End do?
Officially, nothing - although the folks in the North End
are also involved in a bunch of other Crew activities though -
from putting on pre- and post-game tailages to organizing road
trips to working with the Crew Ambassadors to help promote the
Crew in any way possible, some of the folks in the North End are
extremely involved in other aspects of the Columbus Crew. The
biggest activity outside the cheering section itself is probably
the tailgates - any excuse to party :-)
How can I get involved with the North End?
Quite simply, show up! If you want to test the waters first, just
move over to section 137 for a half - buy your normal seats and
test the waters, so to speak. If you like that sampling, come
for a whole game - buy a ticket there if you don't have season
tickets, or just show up for the whole game. The North End operates
on a quasi-general admission policy (there -are- assigned seats,
but nobody really cares much if they're actually in them - although
please give way to someone who -does- want to be in their assigned
seat), so there's generally no problem with folks visiting from
other areas of the stadium.
The main benefit that buying a ticket in 137 gives you is that
it helps us show the Crew that there's interest in the North End
- which helps us get things like banners, scarves, and other arrangements
that have been set up. But having a ticket for the right section
isn't a requirement to come and cheer with us.
