The range of Rollercoaster Tycoon rides available makes Rollercoaster Tycoon an excellent game. This section is devoted to explaining the good and bad points of ALL the rides and shops in Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Transport Rides - These specialise in transporting your guest about your park

Miniature Railway - This is an excellent way of transporting your guests around your park, if a little slow at times. This is built in a similar way to the rollercoaster. It cannot be built very high, unlike the chairlift, which means it takes up valuable ride space. Yet the guests enjoy it as it is an unusual experience. 7/10

Mono-Rail - The mono-rail is the most effective way of transporting guests around your park. When using the Large Mono-rail train it is very fast and can carry a large number of people. An added advantage is that when it rains everybody wants to get under cover - the mono-rail is their first choice. 9/10

Chairlift - This is a very good choice as it can be taken quite high. This means it only needs ground space for the stations, leaving more space for your attractions. It can travel quite quickly but each car can only take 2 people, and there are a maximum of 12 cars. 7/10

Gentle Rides - These are for your more subtle guests.

Haunted House - The old classic fairground ride that everybody used to go on, except it is not quite the same. Few peoples will actually want to go on this ride and even less will actually enjoy it. This ride will not get much attention, even if you have huge adverts for it, and therefore will not pay for itself. In fact will rarely make profit at all. 4/10

Ferris Wheel - A pathetic ride again, yet people do want to go on it. But they also want to get off. People feel that the ride goes on for too long and you will never see people leaping in the air after a trip on the Ferris wheel. 5/10

Hedge Maze - Another waste of money and space. Few people will want to go on this ride. Not much else to say really. 2/10

Merry Go Round - Quite popular but the novelty of the Merry Go Round wears off very quickly. 4/10

Observation Tower - The guests love this ride when it is raining, as it's under cover. Build it immediatley and exploit in bad weather. 8/10

Car Ride - An unexciting ride but quite useful to show your guests parts of the park. If you make this long and cheap enough it could become quite popular. Cheap to build too. 7/10

Spiral Slide - Unexciting and too expensive. £330 is far too much to spend on a slide and, as in the case of the merry go round, it's novelty wears off very quickly. 1/10

Dodgems - A standard theme park ride but as above, unexciting and unprofitable. The music is rubbish too. 3/10

Space Rings - Is there a trend developing here? Boring and a waste of space. DO NOT BUY. 2/10

Rollercoasters - Why do you think this was called ROLLERCOASTER Tycoon

Wooden Wild Mouse Rollercoaster - Pathetic. Pointless. Waste of money. Ugly. Slow. Unexciting. Unprofitable. All these words spring to mind when describing this coaster. 0/10

Wooden Rollercaoster - A very good rollercoaster. Exciting and unexpensive. A good wooden rollercoaster is fast with plenty of sudden turns. A lack of special track limits this to the first few scenarios. 7/10

Steel Mini Rollercoaster - Not good. Not good at all. Very limited special pieces make this a boring rollercoaster to build and watch. 5/10

Mine Train Rollercoaster - A fast a truely exciting experience for your guests. I hope you have AT LEAST one in your park. 8/10

Steel Rollercoaster - A fast rollercoaster which should be in any good park. A large range of special pieces make this adaptable to most situations. 9/10

Stand Up Steel Rollercoaster - This is a great rollercoaster where the guests stand up in the rollercoaster cars. You shoul be careful though; If it is too intense no one will go on it. 7/10

Corkscrew Rollercoaster - A very good all-rounder. A wide range of pieces make this a very good choice, if a bit expensive. 7/10

Suspended Rollercoaster - The suspended rollercoaster is an original idea, but it is not too popular. A limited range of pieces make this a nightmare to build. 5/10

Inverted Rollercoaster - The ultimate in rollercoasters. A massive range of pieces means you will never run out of ideas when building one. Be careful. It eats your hard earned cash very quickly. 10/10 THE BEST ROLLERCOASTER

Suspended Single Rail Rollercoaster - Not a bad rollercoaster but not a good one. A limited range of pieces, but guests seem to enjoy it. Only build it if you have all the others in your park. 5/10

Single Rail Rollercoaster - An exciting and unique experience for the guests. They will enjoy this but be careful as there are no banked corners. 7/10

Bobsleigh Rollercoaster - A good rollercoaster but very difficult to build. If the train goes over a bump too fast the train will crash off the track. If you are careful this is a very popular ride. 7/10

Reverse Freefall Rollercoaster - An amazing experience for the guests. However, there are limited varieties. 7/10

Vertical Rollercoaster - Surprisingly popular. A very fast ride with a wide range of pieces make this a good choice in any park. Watch the price though. 8/10

Thrill Rides - The heart of any park

Twist - Rubbish. Gets NO attention and makes no profit. DO NOT PURCHASE!!! 0/10

Launched Freefall - A copy of the PlayStation ride at Blackpool. A fun ride for all guests. A good choice. 9/10

Swinging Ship - The traditional pirate ship. Fun and quite profitable. I hope you have AT LEAST one. 8/10

Go Karts - Very popular, but high running costs mean that little profit is made. Still don't let that deter you. 9/10

Swinging Inverter Ship - A modification to the swinging ship. This is fully enclosed but swings until the guests are upside down. BUY LOTS OF THESE!!! 9/10

Motion Simulator - The guests enjoy this,it fits into a small space, but is not cheap at £440. Buy it if you really want one. 7/10

3D Cinema - A long queue is all I have to say. Not because it is popular but because it is a very slow ride which drags on for a millenium. 5/10

Top Spin - A very popular ride with three intensity settings. Be careful with it on the highest setting and make sure you have a handyman on patrol in the immediate area of the exit to clear up the aftermath of motion sickness. 10/10

Water Rides - Wet fun for all!

Water Slide - A very good ride which will have long queues. Don't say I didn't warn you if you don't build a long queue line. 9/10

Log Flume - A slow ride which cannot crash. Popular in the desert settings. 7/10

River Rapids - Slow, but thoughly enjoyable by all guests. 8/10

Boat Hire - Boring. Boring. Boring. Boring. Get the idea? 0/10

Shops and Stalls - You are the only supplier of food. Exploit.

Ice Cream Stall - Sells ice cream. 6/10

Chip Shop - Sells chips. 8/10

Burger Bar - Sells Beef Burgers. 7/10

Drinks Stall - Sells Drinks. 8/10

Candy Floss Stall - Sells Candyfloss. 8/10

Pizza Stall - Sells Pizza. 8/10

Popcorn Stall - Sells Popcorn. 7/10

Balloon Stall - Sells Balloons. 10/10

Souvenir Stall - Sells Cuddly Toys and Umbrellas. 8/10

Information Kiosk - Sells Park Maps and Umbrellas. Everyone needs a map.10/10

Toilet - Essential. Need I say more? 10/10
