Defintions Which Every Good Blink182 Fan Ought To Know
Blink182's lyrics are part of what makes them so much fun! Some of
their songs are about as serious as a grade school realationship
between the girl next door and the guy who followed her home. Despite
that, they have a pretty advanced volcabulary and not all of us know
the definition of "cacophoney". But you can't stop a willing Blink fan with a
dictionary! Anyways, I've typed out this list of words for you so
you don't have to go ask your mom what sodomy means, and then be sorry you
did. Some of this is just Blinker nonsense, but its all good.
Alrighty, here we go:
Aggression - hostile or destructive behaviour.
Barefoot - the state of wearing no socks... yeah :)
Ben Wah Balls - I have NO clue :)
Blind - not being able to see (also a good skateboard company!)
Blink - involuntary shutting and opening of the eyes.
Blinkage - what you get if you listen to Blink182 for an extended
period of time.
Blinkers - a group of Blink182 fans.
Blink Nurse - the nice lady on the front of "Enema of the State" and in
the "What's My Age Again?" video. Her name is Janine.
Blink Pill - the Blink182 logo accociated with "Enema of the State".
Blond - a person having bleached or light coloured hair.
Bloodshot - inflammed to redness.
Broad - slang for girl.
Buck - a dollar.
Buddha - the god that buddists worship.
Cacophoney - harsh or discordant sound.
Carousel - merry-go-round, carnival ride... Fun :)
Cheshire Cat - feline character from Alice in Wonderland (there's little
doubt in my mind that Blink182 have watched that movie WAY too many times...).
Chore - a routine task or job.
CIA - Central Intelligence Agency.
Clumsy - lacking dexterity, nimbleness.
Commiserating - to feel or express sympathy.
Commitment - to put into charge or trust, to pledge yourself.
Conspirocies - twisted plots.
Crappy - nonsense, tom foolery, blinkity blink :)
Cologne - a perfumed liquid consisting of alcohol and aromatic oils.
Denied - rejection of a request.
Doberman Pincher - specific breed of dog, originating in Germany
(Mein Gott! Wirklich?)
Dude Ranch - a vacation resort offering activities, such as horseback
riding,
typical of western ranches.
Dysentery - Ummm... I didn't realise when I started this list that
maybe some of Blink182's strange words were better left alone.
I'm sorry, but if you want to know what this is, you go
look it up youself 'cause I'm not going to tell you :)
Ego - the one of the three divisions of the psyche in psychoanalytic
theory that serves as the organized conscious mediator between
the person and reality (yeah... I really cleared up that whole ego
thing for you huh?)
Emitting - to give off or out, eject.
Enema - hmmm, another one of those blechy things... it's an injection
of liquid into the rectum.
Fate - the cause beyond man's control that is held to determine events
(fate sucks).
Fender - a guitar brand/company (apparently Tom owes them money...).
Hearsay - a statement or report current but not authenticated.
Indigestion - difficulty in digesting food, pain is caused by this :(
Intoxicate - to make drunk.
Lame - lacking substance (kinda like a Pop group or Dawson's Creek).
Lecture - those long talks with your parents that you can't remember a
word of after a day or so.
Madagascar - a foreign country (well, unless you live there).
Magestic - characterized by grandeur or beauty.
Nightmare - a frightening dream or state occuring during sleep.
Nuclear - fun stuff *evil grin*.... relating to or utilizing atomic energy.
Paranoia - mental disorder marked by delusions and irrational suspicion.
Passivly - not activly.
Prank - practical joke, may involve phones :)
Princess Leia - female character from Star Wars.
Procrastination - to put off doing something that needs to be done.
Prostate - a glandular thing about the base of the male urethra (did
you know we had one of those guys? Well there ya go).
Punk - anti-establishment and deliberately abnormal style of music
(Yay Punk!)
Reluctant - holding back.
Skeptic - having a critical or doubtful attitude.
Sodomy - uhhh, anal intercourse. The state looks down
on sodomy and now you know why :)
Solitude - the state of being alone.
Trance - a state of fluttery absorption.
Trite - used so commonly that the novelty is worn off.
Typical - serving as a characteristic example.
Unhealthy - harm to health, dangerous.
Unpredictable - not predictable, kinda like the day after tomorrow.
Weasel - small, slender flesh-eating mammal.
Whore - this has to be one of Blink's favorite words. Somehow I doubt
they think of it as it's written in the book, but a whore is
basically a girl who engages in promiscuous sexual acts in
exchange for money... not the kinda girl to bring home to meet
mom and dad :)
