Capricorn, the SeaGoat |
|
| Pan was a Greek god who had the head and torso of a man and the legs, hindquarters, and horns of a goat. Pan ruled over fields, woods, flocks and sheep. He played a flute called a syrinx. The syrinx was actually a nymph who Pan turned into a musical instrument when she rejected his sexual advances. He decided that he would have her one way or another. | |
| According to Greek mythology, Pan escaped the monster Typhon by jumping into a river and turning his lower half into a fish. During a battle between the Titans and the gods of Olympus, Pan sent a warning by blowing on a conch shell. As a reward, Zeus installed Pan among the stars in the constellation Capricorn. | |
