Leo, the Lion
The first mission that Hercules had on his Twelve Labors was to kill the Nemean lion. The Nemean lion was practically invincible because its skin could not be hurt by man made weapons. Stone, iron and bronze weapons couldn't even penetrate the fur. Hercules tried to kill the lion by using arrows but they didn't harm the beast at all. Eventually Hercules had to wrestle with lion bare handed. With his great strength, Hercules was able to strangle the lion once he got a good grip on the lion's neck. During the battle the lion bit off Hercules finger.
After the lion was killed, Hercules made an breastplate out of the lion's skin and a helmet from the lion's jaw. The lion was placed in the heavens in the constellation Leo to commodate the bravery of battle between the lion and Hercules.
