Aquarius, the Waterbearer

The water bearer was represented of Jupiter who had could command the waters to pour from heaven. After Pandora had open her box of evil and the plagues released on earth, Jupiter decided to rid the world of people and create a new race. He covered the earth with water with the help of his brother Neptune. Only two people survived, Deucalion and his wife, Pyrrha. They had taken refuge on Mount Parnassus. Jupiter saw them and remembered that they had worshipped the gods faithfully and were both just and devoted.
Jupiter caused the water to recede and the earth to dry; then he commanded Deucalion and Pyrrha to cast the bones of their mother behind them. Deucalion interpreted the word bones to be the stones of earth. So Deucalion and Pyrrha picked up stones and cast them behind them as they walked. These stones turned into human beings. The men sprang from the stones Deucalion threw while the women sprang from the stones Pyrrha threw behind her. Deucalion became the father of the new race and to commemorate his actions Jupiter placed him in the sky in the constellation Aquarius.
