Lateral Concepts is a human resource development company specialising in the delivery of cost-effective training and strategic interventions.

Although Lateral Concepts is currently dormant it is still a legal, viable and liquid entity.  It is hoped that the intellectual material will be put to good use in the future.

Angus Young is the founder of Lateral Concepts and is a salesman par excellence with an enviable track record as a results orientated manager in the corporate world.  He has established his own training consultancy - Lateral Concepts, which focuses on the development of individuals, organisations and sales forces. His managerial and leadership skills were gained from experience in retail and manufacturing plus sales, marketing and distribution.

Angus has been utilised by numerous South African organisations to improve the productivity of their personnel with tremendous success. Amongst others, he is has been involved with Goodyear, SAB, Coca-Cola Sabco, Expeditors, Bonnita & Aberdare in the development of their employees.

He assists clients in making the necessary mind shifts and provides them with performance improvement skills to ensure their effectiveness in our rapidly changing and challenging business environment.
In addition to this Angus is also involved with training and counselling in numerous community and youth programmes.

Angus has an all consuming passion to unlock the awesome potential of all individuals.  He derives great satisfaction from leading and motivating others to strive for personal excellence.

Lateral Concepts works in conjunction with the following Training Associations, based in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth;

A. PEOPLE DEVELPOMENT PARTNERSHIP

Together For Prosperity – is aimed at work force alignment, which fits in at the bottom level and is a basic business awareness program, which deals with specific departmental problems.  It is a task driven program, involving groups and aims to get delegates to accept ownership of the company and to buy into company objectives. 

My Own Money Plan – The goal of this course is to enable all people to learn how to manage their money better.  It is a three-hour module aimed at employees at all levels and facilitates the understanding of the principals of budgeting. 

Quality Starts Here – Has been developed to meet the needs of business and industry in South Africa and provides an understanding for employees on the importance and the impact of quality assurance systems and quality products/services on themselves and their company.  It also introduces participants to ISO 9000, the internationally recognised quality assurance system. 

Lets Work Together – Is a three tier program, a management workshop presented over two, four hour sessions; the separate supervisor program, which is a one day program and a one day training session for all employees including management and supervisors.  The aim of “Lets work together” is twofold.  Firstly a follow-up to “Together for Prosperity” and secondly to impart skills needed for a more successful implementation of participative management and empowerment.
