001 [1.01-95] Welcome to New York / Willkommen in New York!
Kirk Hartman is a carefree bachelor who recently graduated college
and, as an aspiring illustrator, is currently working in New York
City as a sign painter. But his life takes an unexpected turn when
his aunt stops on her way to Florida at his appartment to off-load
his three siblings. Now as a parent, things don't go that easy and
after he has to work longer than expected he can't pick up Russell
after school. He transfers that duty to Corey - but Corey just loses
Russell on his way home. Now Russell is even less enthusiastic about
his new life in New York than he was before and turns sulky. This
ruins a date with his newly-met, attractive neighbor Elizabeth.

After Kirk has learned that Phoebe asked Elizabeth if she'd go with
her buying a bra, Kirk decides he's parent enough to take on this
'job' himself. So he goes shopping and hands it over to Phoebe as a
present. But he doesn't pay enough attention to the sensitivity of
this situation and it ends extremely embarrassing for Phoebe - and
finally for Kirk, too.

A date, arranged by Eddie, turns out extremely rushy when Corey can't

take his siblings along to the movies. He places them both in front
of a movie and he himself goes with his date to another - where he
also runs into Corey! He orders Corey should (at least now) take care
of his two siblings. But Phoebe and Russell have already left ...

A forwarded mail from Ohio talks about a comic book contest held in
New York, in order to find a new comic-hero, with the deadline just
one day away. So Kirk, who already has created such a figure, works
all night to finish a complete story. Done, a sick Russell comes into
his way and nearly destroys the sketches. Already too late for the
contest, Eddie brings up a new chance when he announces he knows Stan
Lee, the one in charge of this contest.

Kirk, once again turned down by Elizabeth, agrees to Eddie's plan

perfect evening there but at the party his dream hits reality big
time. At home Phoebe takes on the baby-sitting: But a 'mishop' by
Russell then could mean that that's her last baby-sitting job for
a very long time.

hall Eddie wants to sue the owner - and Sally's now after him to
proof he's cheating.

again. Kirk, who came by, offers to come along. When he wants to
pull the plug from Corey's hoover he gets the wrong one and thinks
now that he pulled the plug from the patient who died shortly before.

revenge for Phoebe who played a trick on him.

to Elizabeth. She's really bad and as Kirk can't throw her out of the
team, they enter the finals with her. To heat up the game some bets
are placed.

Kirk accidentally opens a letter meant for Elizabeth. Knowing this
would be wrong he doesn't want to read the letter ... but Eddie is
different. So Kirk learns that the letter is from Elizabeth's ex Guy
who's in town and wants to meet her. Eddie persuades Mike not to hand
over the (already destroyed) letter and soon Kirk regrets listening to
him. So he personally meets Guy and encourages him to take on another
try, reducing his own chances. Guy tries again, he meets Elizabeth and
proposes to her... Russell takes care of the class's pet, a bird who
knows some tricks, and Corey let him fly out the window.

the dance.

Kirk clash right on the day of Kirk's birthday surprise-party, which
was planned by the kids, Eddie and Sally.

different and Kirk's stays longer than expected - and gets all the
attention. And this just there, where Corey thought he could be
'someone', better than Kirk. Eddie tries to find out the secret
ingredients of his mother's spaghetti sauce to make the big money.

Corey and his friends won a free ride with a limo through New York
City. The only problem is Kirk, who after some back and forth,
finally decides against allowing it. After some discussing and a
lot of help from Eddie and Elizabeth, Kirk lets him reluctantly go.
For the three boys in the limo it's really not an exciting evening,
at least not until a highly pregnant woman enters the car. At home,
with Corey overdue, Kirk gets really nervous and then he also gets
a call that the boys have stolen the limo ...

afraid of the beach, Corey should learn for a test and Eddie is
also around.
