Monday, November 15 (continued)

After we settled into our rooms, we made our way across town to Fortnum & Mason for tea. Fortnum & Mason is a large department store, somewhat like Harrods, with a restaurant and gourmet food store on the ground floor. Afternoon tea came with chutney, Welsh rarebit with bacon, scones, clodded cream and jam. Everything was wonderful and shopped afterwards. Next we walked down to Picadilly Circus, and on to Trafalgar Square. Along the way, we saw a performance in the window of Tower Records. It was a “body manipulation” performance and featured a woman with a boa constrictor, and a man putting nails into his nose and through his skin. We made our way back to the B&B, taking pictures and enjoying the city sites.
