Finally made it to Stonehenge and Bath today! Loraine and Denise decided to come too, so the three of us ate quickly and took a brisk walk to the Churchill Hotel to meet the bus. We had found the Churchill the day before, so we knew how far it was from the B&B and how to get there, and we arrived just before the bus. It looked like it would be a rainy day, but during the 2 hour drive to Bath, the clouds came and went. The rolling hills of the countryside are beautiful. The Roman Baths were very interesting and it was surprising to hear the ruins had only been discovered this century. When the English took the city back from the Romans, they buried or destroyed everything the Romans had built, including the Baths. They were lost and forgotten for centuries, until they were excavated when trying to find the water source that was mysteriously flooding houses that had been built on top of the ruins.
