That's right, Vinnie Mac is guilty.
He's guilty of being blind. I've mentioned that Eric Bischoff as talent that he's not using to its full potential. That can
also be said for Vince. Several wrestlers come to mind, but we'll get to them later. First, let me mention what is blinding
Vince.
Steve Austin. Because he is part of Austin's angle, Vince is milking Stone Cold as far as he can. I've already said that
it's getting tiresome, and it's true. Sure, he can add a little spice with the Bossman, and with cement, but it's still the same
stuff we've seen since Wrestlemania.
It's time for Vince to get off his butt and open his eyes to his talent roster. There are three wrestlers who are ready
for the BIG TIME. I'm talking main event status here, folks. They are ready to explode.
OWEN HART is the most obvious of the bunch. For years, Owen played second fiddle to his brother Bret. While
the Hitman is the "Excellence of Execution", Owen is a better all around wrestler. Sure, he's had the IC title, and the Euro
title, but the only time Owen's been in the main event at a PPV was when Bret was involved. Let's see Owen Hart the way
we should, main event. He has the skill in the ring, on the mic. He is the best in the biz. Owen has not only earned the right,
he deserves it.
JEFF JARRETT is also being poorly used. Right now, Double J has the best gimmick he's ever had. He swings
the guitar better than the Honky Tonk Man, and his "Don't Piss Me Off" attittude is a perfect match for the current state of
professional wrestling. But Vince is only using Jarrett as a jobber. He's better than that. Let's see Jeff Jarrett play one of
his greatest hits on Steve Austin. Giving Jarrett main event status will allow Vince and the wrestling industry to see what the
real wrestling fans already know. Jeff Jarrett = talent.
JESSE JAMES is another superstar who could become an icon. Sure, he's popular, but that's because he's a
member of both the most popular gang and a partner in the most popular tag team in wrestling. The Road Dog is
experiencing his popularity only because of DX. Everyone knows his mic skills are great, and his wrestling skills are just as
good; he's an Armstrong. Jesse James needs to break away from DX and establish himself as a dominant singles force.
It wouldn't be the worst thing Vince could do.
Vince, it's time to look past Steve Austin. It's time you opened your eyes and saw the talent you really have. After
all, when you have oatmeal all the time, you start to hate oatmeal. The wrestling fans are ready to see new guys carry the
torch. Only Vince McMahon's blindness stands in the way.

The next six months or so will tell the future of World Championship Wrestling, and if they're not careful, they could
seriously put themselves in serious jeopardy. But why six months?
It's because in the middle of 1998, unless something drastic happens, the WWF will be showing Kliq reuinon, a
move that if not countered, could level a crushing blow to WCW. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash are most likely going to return
to the company that made them famous, and WCW needs to match that kind of fan excitment.
That is why the next six months are crucial. And the most important people in the WCW's future are Buff Bagwell,
Chris Jericho, and Goldberg. Let's start with Buff.
Bagwell is amazing with the mic. He can get the crowd going on all levels, and that's without the repetition others like
Jesse James, K-Dog, and Billy Gunn use. Buff is carrying the Rick Steiner/Scott Steiner angle all by himself, and he isn't even
able to wrestle. Buff is ready for the big time.
The same can be said for Jericho. He's better on the mic than Buff, and is a better wrestler. He gave Dean Malenko
popularity, and probably saved the Cruiserweight Division, (though now that he's gone from it, it's on the decline again). Time
and again, Jericho provides great entertainment. He needs to take it to the next level.
Then there is Goldberg. Goldberg has perhaps unlimited potential. Every time we see him wrestle, he shows us a new
move, or a different take on an old move. He gets a crowd reaction second only to Stone Cold Steve Austin. He, along with
Buff and Jericho, are the future of WCW, and the future looks bright.
It's the present that is muddled, and it clouds the future a little bit.
WCW needs to drop the NWO angle as soon as possible. I'm not talking Starrcade, I'm talking right now. Why?
Because Hall and Nash ARE the angle, and they're going to be GONE. Sting and Bret don't need the NWO. The NWO is
stale, and operates only as a vehicle for Hogan. He doesn't need the NWO either. But if the NWO is still around when
Hall and Nash are gone, it will lose the remaining interest it still holds.
WCW needs to give the young guns a push to the big time. The future needs to be now. They have the talent, just not
the opportunity to showcase it on a main event level.
The WCW needs to give Bill Goldberg an angle, and fast. Once he loses, he will need some kind of an angle to
maintain his current popularity status. Right now, he's a World Champion without an angle. In fact, he's part of Chris Jericho's
angle. For a champion to not have an angle is not a good thing.
WCW needs to turn Sting back to the Sting we all know and love. Get rid of the red, the black and the white. Give
us the Sting from 1992.
WCW needs to forget about the Warrior. Nobody cares about him.
Forget about the Horseman, at least in there current form. The Horsemen are best as a team, but right now are taking
up the carreers of two of the best singles competiors in the business. Malenko and Benoit don't need a team to shine. They
need to be on there own.
Eric Bischoff is doing a few things right on target, however. His use of Bret Hart is perfect. This is the best role for the
Hitman, a classic heel. His feud with Sting is perfect, and fans have been clamoring for it for years.
DDP is also being used well. As long as he keeps getting close but not getting the title, the fans will appreciate him as
the working man's champ. Once he gets it however, that feeling is over.
Six months is all it takes. The pieces are there and the time is now.
