Thunder Live/Taped: Taped
Location: Alberquerque, New Mexico.
Length: 2:00+
Van Hammer vs Wrath
-The match opened off with a lockup. Bith men just brawl for the
rest of the match. Nothing we
haven't seen before happened in this sad match. Wrath finally won
with the Meltdown.
Alex Wright vs Fit Finlay
-Yes, its Wright! This match was slow, but featured some descent
in ring action. The crowd seemed
to enjoy this match. Finlay was in control for most of the match,
until Wright battled back with nailingFinlays jaw onto the rope.
Wright then did a missile dropkick, which knocked out both Finlay
& the referee. Wright then went to wake up the ref, when
Finlay caught Wright from behind, & finished him off with the
tombstone piledriver for the victory. Good match.
Then we see footage from Nitro where Scott Steiner & Buff Bagwell beat up Joe Joe.
Tough Tom/Mean Mike vs Desciple
-Desciple started the match off with destroying the jobbers.
Finally one of the jobbers battled back,
but Desciple easily stopped his opponents momentum. Desciple won
with the Apocolypse. This
match earned the Starburst Slam of the Night.
Eddie Guerreo vs Dean Malenko
-As Guerreo is on his way to the ring, Shiavone plugs WW3, and
says the winner of the 60-man
battle royal will fight for the world title at Starrcade. This
match started off quickly, with both men
countering each others moves. Shiavone says that they'll show
Page's US Title victory from Nitro
over Bret Hart. Commercial break. When we come back, we see lots
of fast paced wrestling action.
Malenko has Guerreo in a chinlock, but Guerro escapes and back
suplexes him. Malenko battles
back, and goes for the Texas Cloverleif, but Guerreo goes to the
ropes. Eddie begs for Malenko
to stop beating him up, but Malenko attacks him anyway. Malenko
puts him in another submission.
Guerro battles back and takes control, which ticks a lot of fans
off. Guerro suplexes Malenko, and
goes for the frog splash and nails Malenko, and goes for the pin,
but Malenko kicked out. Guerro
flipped Malenko out of the ring, followed by Eddie punching &
kicking him on the outside. The
action goes back into the ring, and Eddie attempted a backslide,
& both men attempt pins each
other.Malenko wins by pinfall, & then the rest of LWO come
out and attack Malenko. Benoit & Mongo make the save.
TV Title Match: Disco Inferno
vs Chris Jericho w/Jericho's Security
-Before the match, Disco says that Jericho should respect him
& put the TV Title belt around his
waiste. Jericho put the belt around Disco's waiste, and then
kicked his ass. Jericho went to nail Disco
with the belt, but the ref stopped him. Then we see a lot of
"Old School Style" moves from both men.
These guys are just so funny. The action goes back & forth,
until Disco took control. Disco went for
the win with the piledriver, but Jericho turned it into the
Liontamer. Disco gave up. Outstanding match.
Cruiserweight Title Match:
Chavo Guerrero w/Pepe vs Kidman
-I missed some of this match, but my mom said that the bit I
missed featured some good match. WhenI came back, I saw Chavo
having Kidman in a sleeperhold. Kidman escaped the hold like
every other wrestler does. The action picked up its pace with
lots of German suplexes and counters. Chavobulldoged Kidman from
the second rope. Chavo then punched & kicked Kidman lots
more. Chavo goes up top, got pulled down, and Kidman beat him.
Good match. Then Eddie & the LWO come to the ring and tells
Chavo that if he wants to join the LWO, he has to earn Eddies
respect.
We see scenes from Nitro featuring Warrior & NWO Hollywood.
"The Cat" Ernest
Miller vs Viallano V
-Alberquerque doesn't seem to like "The Cat". "The
Cat" says that Vianno V has 5 seconds to leave
the ring or they will get hurt bad. Viallano gets in a few moves,
but Miller takes control. Viallano
gets in a few kicks & a sentan, but Miller defeats the
Mexican with the spinning heal kick, followed
by a pinfall. Miller challenges anyone else to come and fight
him. Sonny Ono came to the ring in a
blue suit. Ono tells Miller that he's the greatest. Ono flashes
Miller some money, & Miller says to him "Let's talk
about it".
Scott Hall vs Steve Armstrong
-I'm surprised Hall didn't do his survey. Hall doesn't appear to
be drunk, or so that's what were supposed to think. This match
was a bore. Hall won by pinfall after executing not one, but two
Outsiders Edges. Shiavone plugs "Movies for Guys Who Like
Movies".
We see the ending an aftermath of the DDP/Bret match for the US title from Nitro.
MAIN EVENT
Giant vs Raven w/Kanyon
-Someone in the crowd has a sighn that says: "Raven's my
hero". The Giant dominates this match. Giant threatens
Kanyon. Raven finally gets some moves in with nailing Giant with
a chair, & hitting
Giants head on the post. The Giant chokeslams Raven threw the
table, and follows with a pin for the win.
That's all for Thunder, see ya!
