Sand Diaries Day 3

Friday the 13th, Lucky Day

As is typical in the desert (and I suppose in March), the weather changed overnight. As I awoke and spied the gray skies, it was hard not to believe in omens. Would the curse of Friday the 13th descend upon the day? I shrugged, donned my sweats and headed for the beach.

 Breakfast

When we arrived, people were already lining up at the box office. Volunteers were busy receiving last minute directions. Being a confirmed night person, I headed for the dark of one of the hospitality tents. There I found a sumptious breakfast of fruits, muffins, bagels and juices. Now this was more like it.

Trey.... Future King?  After a lovely feast, I set about MY favorite sport, which is crowd watching. Although there were to be no splashing children today, there was plenty of fun to be had in moving and shifting around the vast amounts of sand. I saw more than one baby sample their first taste of sand... future volleyball players, perhaps?
